dc willow

'in the middle of the large the pond was an isle planted with willows,
weeping willows, but they didn't look sad to me.
when you swam to the island on a late summer afternoon,
you entered a place of dancing magic.
the drooping branches touching the  lazy water,
the leaves playing with  sunlight , the water playing with sunlight,
small light beams of sparking sunrays, the soft rustling,
i was in my late teens but i  remember that place like yesterday.'

thanks dear Carole for taking me there on a wintry march day,
please have a look at Carole's blog for more willows,

have a sunny weekend
X

  8. Renilde - I can hear the rustling and smell the cool water sliding off my skin as I emerge on the willow island to join you, my friend - both of us impossibly young and tan and lovely in the dappling summer sunlight. Wonderful how your paintings tell such a rich story.

  9. And thank you Renilde, for taking me there on that memory too. Oh those spots of sparkly sunlight are otherworldly and over the moon. The dancing movement here is grand. The tree is like the tree of life, and the figure, aware of life. Love this!! N, xo

  20. Wow- I've missed a lot! This painting tells a story, moody and delicate like a dream. The poem is lovely, too; with your words and images you transported me to another world.
