I started very enthusiastic an almost classical
scene.... had to try another one, one i never found
in my book when i was a child, and could not resist drawing the one below,
iconic, that's how much they are a part of our past and present,
are you looking forward to more little red hooded girls and big bad wolves,
please visit Patrice's beautiful and stylish blog to find out
where they are hiding
have a good weekend

you've had a red riding hood ball! i think you may have drawn my childhood interpretations here too. especially the nana & child crawling out.
ReplyDeleteyour little rr hood is very renilde!
:)))

Renilde, I so enjoyed these drawings - especially pleased to see someone tackle the moment when the gramma and the girl are released from Wolf's stomach. Yikes, what a Tale! xxoo, sus
ReplyDeleteel lobo está cansado de ser el malo y la niña sueña con ser una loba
ReplyDeletewhat a big wolf, wow.
ReplyDeletethe last one is so great!

Dear renilde, I really like your classical version and also the one where they escape from the stomach. But the last one is really great!

Lovely pictures. And my favourite is actually the last picture! The whole fairytale and its sentiment captured in a few simple lines, just like children with a few strokes illustrates the mood of a story!
ReplyDelete:)
that last one made me smile
ReplyDeleteand her crawling out the wolf is something
I never liked as a child
this fairytale is not one of my favorites!
but your painting is so you
I LOVE that large wolf
standing strong, like he is protecting her
and that is how I like to see it :^))
thank you!
love

Dear Renilde,
ReplyDeleteyou show us here very different interpretations of Little Red Rinding Hood and every single is great!
The classical variation is fantastic with the huge wolf and the brave looking girl. The second one with the victory of the good over the bad, from the childhood up until old age (now I can understand the role of the wolf, thank you!). And the last iconic drawing is really packed with all informations about this fairy tale, brilliant!
Love
x Ariane.
I was always intrigued by the fact that the people could crawl out of the wolf- like living inside an animal was something that could really happen.
ReplyDeleteI especially love your "iconic" version of this tale- it is beautifully minimal and still communicates the theme perfectly!
i love your interpretation!
ReplyDeleteand the last picture says it ALL:))
love, julia
Renilde
ReplyDeleteIm dying of love for these artworks the faces of red riding hood and the wolf are just amazing. And loving the girl coming out of the wolf too. The last one all minimal but still conveying the threat fabulous. Great work.

the last one is so great! I have never seen such a short and true version of red riding hood! also beautiful your drawings! I have pity on the wolf...!

Hello Renilde!
ReplyDeleteVery classic scene and very well drawn... now about the one they are coming out of the wolf's belly I think is just
great and not as grotesk as those who created the fairytale books of our childhood might have thought...
I particularly like the expression on rr hood. Vivid and vibrant!
Thank you so much for your comment on my little rr hood : )
Enjoy your evening!
That's so true, they never drew that scene, and I always wondered why you tell children such stuff? Like the most fairytails have some scary bits in it. I like your drawings, ecpecially LRRH herself, it's like she has two faces and in that one drawing it's like she's best friends with that wolf!
ReplyDeleteLittle Red and her posy of blue! So beautiful. They stand so close it makes me nervous.
ReplyDeleteLovely paintings, as always Renilde.
Have a wonderful day.
Rachel
Renilde, Dear friend, I have been away for a few days but I'm slowly coming back.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments and I want to tell you I love these pictures!
the two faces, Red Riding Hood, in the best Picasso's style, is spectacular!! :)))
Wow Renilde! I plan to spend some time here...this post is amazing. I feel like I am in a little special separate room in a larger art gallery and the room is reserved for your Little Red Riding Hood theme and there is a large sofa in the middle of the room for people to sit in and just experience the feel of your pieces. First of all, Little Red has positively animal eyes and Big Bad has positively human eyes. I love this and can't say enough how I enjoy your art. So I am going to push off here and go back and experience this post privately now. See you soon, hugs, Norma, x
