chicken

no better time to do a chicken for the animal book.

then i remembered an egg wreath i made years ago,
rumbling through the storage(clutter) room i found it
and another cardboard baby dressed in a vintage appron.

you remember my eggheads, well they do exist, look here.

wishing you all happy holidays

egg road

a theme of (seemingly) endless possibillities ,
the egg form and patterns, so perfect,
the literal and figurative content,

egg time is coming on this side of the world :)

please have a look at 'our world of eggs',
the names of the other players you can find on Norma's blog,

dc willow

'in the middle of the large the pond was an isle planted with willows,
weeping willows, but they didn't look sad to me.
when you swam to the island on a late summer afternoon,
you entered a place of dancing magic.
the drooping branches touching the  lazy water,
the leaves playing with  sunlight , the water playing with sunlight,
small light beams of sparking sunrays, the soft rustling,
i was in my late teens but i  remember that place like yesterday.'

thanks dear Carole for taking me there on a wintry march day,
please have a look at Carole's blog for more willows,

have a sunny weekend

untitled but with hope

this may not be the happiest of posts but i place it anyway;
sometimes my thoughts go out to the children living in 'war zones',
and i mean all places and situations where it's hard to grow up,
very distorted circumstances which leave their marks forever.

making this collage i noticed i used rather light colors for such a heavy theme;
yes there are the stains and the 'written history'  that can't be erased,
the asking eyes and hands, there might even be blood on the toy,
but there is also hope, blank pages that could be filled with happy words,
butterfly ; more hope and transformation and... color,

i'm trying to give myself some hope here i guess, a kind of comfort,
a wish and a call for compassion and human responsibility.

because it kept snowing she filled the house with flowers

after the taste of Spring we had the past week
lady Winter decided she wasn't ready to leave yet
once more  she spreads her white soft cloak
and i, i filled the house with flowers  and painted another
animal, an ermine, ready to change it's wintercoat .

dc moon

Sweet Patrice presented us with  'moon',
a theme that brought me so much  'images' i could hardly concentrate on one,
(or was it the moon herself playing a part in this doubt and hesitation)

being outside at night i always look up to see the moon,
searching her on cloudy nights,
meeting her full face once a month, a good feeling,
on the one hand very enchanting, on the other hand ,putting me with both feet on the ground (earth)

even two year old grandson stands at the window ,
'maan' he says , pointing with his little finger.

one wonders why it took us so long to get to this theme,
but her we are, drawing challenge nr.95,  moon,

to bathe in moonlight
please have a look at Patrice's beautiful place,
enjoy,

have a lovely weekend

March light

the power of that first march sunlight,
the eyes need a moment to get used to it
but the heart does not,
 it jumps, it dances!
