It snowed today, only a few showers.

Snow that melted again immediatly.

The whiteness felt nice.

peaceful

Drawing challenge/ Hat

Beautiful Greta has chosen this weeks theme, and it's a great one,

but with too little time i  only can show you my sketch now,

i will put it in colour one of the following days.

Below, two watercolors i made years ago, illustrations for a 

children's book about a milliner who made a hat on which the moon

said a magic spell.

 a beautiful gift i do enjoy and love.

Tomorrow i will have time to paint all day, looking forward to it :))

It's cold outside and dark 

tonight i can not even see the moon

not a star

 quiet  

no dog

  no bird

 or mouse

not a sound

i dip my fingers in the water barrel

the water is not frozen yet

i step inside 

i like the contrast.

Drawing challenge / Rush

'Time flies,

 is there something wrong with the hands of that clock,

would i still have to rush when a day counted more than 24 hours

is it the world i live in, 

a world that dictates that time is money,

have we been put in a treadmill without even noticing it

what's wrong with them?

what's wrong with me?

 is there sometthing wrong with me?

where is the way out?

i don't want to RUSH!!!!'

Premiere.....New show!

Too much to ask??

Boxes

In between working, painting and other stuff, i carried down the boxes
Boxes that are stored in the small storage room upstairs.
The 'christmas boxes' filled with stars and tinsel ,decorations made over the years,
collected old baubles, reminders of many winters passed by.

December memories of other houses and places,
 creative ones, lazier ones, crazy and more silent ones,
happy ones, it is all there, preseved in those boxes.
There is also a kind of hope in them, a longing for warm, sparkling evenings
to get us through this cold and darkest time of year.

And even more hope, utopia perhaps,
 for world peace and food and shelter and christmas lights
for every living soul.

However, each time again, opening the boxes is bringing some magic into the house,
and i love some magic.

Sinterklaas

In the good, old tradition,(and this is one i like) today the 6th of december,
 many children woke up this morning to find
toys and candy brought by sinterklaas.
I might have  one or two today (my
mother keeps the tradition intact to surprise us with these
chocolate figures)

Far away

Vast beaches, palm trees swaying in a salty breeze,

long walks, listening to the sound of the sea, becoming part of that sea,

reading books, reading a few paragraphs and letting them

penetrate the mind even deeper watching out across the water,

total rest.

This is a vacation image i use sometimes when i can't get to sleep.

It usually works :)

Laying in a field of poppies in a summer garden

may just have that effect.

The beautiful and cute Greta made us go on vacation,

take a look at where we all headed.
