Sunday evening, and the sun came out....at last...

after a weekend with shower after shower...

and heavens, opened completely...

I was already thinking about away to escape...

There was found some light in the thrift shop,

a pony, galloping by,





and a large bowl filled with glowing warmth.

Beach walk

Beach walk.


I'm trying out this very fine, soft grain paper.
The gouache in my previous post was also on this paper; it is very smooth and different to work on, the paint smears like butter.
Outside rain, lots of rain, but summer cupboard brings summery inspiration.

She knew a thousand and one tales too.

Pinks and reds

Giant radish from the kitchen garden,

burweed;  firework flowers  for Julia because they remind me of her painted flowers,

once popular, now out of fashion, carnations with a scent so divine.

Drawing / Wings

Birds on the wing in the summer cupboard, summer...giving me wings too.
Warm south wind, flowered breezes, gliding through the house are having that effect on me.

And the ancient dream; how would it feel to have wings, or is it just the longing, the magic of that dream that carries a greater value.

Today was...

strawberry jam
rosemary olive oil
basil vinegar.....

before a thunderstorm , and i didn't say 'smile'.....

preparing some pieces of wood and cardboard...

a bit of playing...

and looking for some black and white string, which was nowhere to be found.

Drawing / Balance

Sometimes the clowns may jump and tease but i just smile at them because they can't disturb the peaceful landscape.

Sometimes, keeping the balance seems an impossible trick.
The only way to reach it is by putting everything back on its place again, patiently.
'Till the birds do find a place to rest.

I found a piece of plywood and had to put this on it.
