Pretty, pretty columbine

At the moment clouds of columbines (from the latin word for pigeon, columba) are dancing all over the garden. Very lively flowers,  wrinkling and curling and unfolding into real beauties.
Botanical name : Aquilegia,  from the latin word for eagle, aquila ; the shape of the flower petals are said to resemble an eagle's claw.  That may be so, but in my garden pretty doves are having a ball.

Impressions of a long weekend

Simply perfect

After watering the plants in the greenhouse and doing my tour around the garden I drank coffee outside.
Ideal way to wake up .
Energized by sunlight and gardenperfume I started a new canvas.

In the afternoon Boaz and his mummy arrived from Rotterdam to spend a long weekend here with us.

Some days are just so simply perfect.

An extra room

The weather is very soft and warm and I can be found in the garden many hours a day.
Pruning and sowing , admiring and just sitting and letting my thoughts flow.

Black and white

I have a small collection of vintage black and white vases, last week I found the largest one in a local thrift shop, happy me.On the wall , a mixed media work I made several years ago .

April mix

The garden is more beautiful everyday. Many lovely blue at the moment. Over the years I've planted and sown numerous blue flowers, just adore that colour.

This is a (very glossy) print of a header I used here some time ago. A photo collage of a gouache and a photo I made. Someone suggested to get it printed , so I gave it a try.
